EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Inaugural NACMA Awards 2012 forever changed the musical landscape of choral music in South Africa. Through the collective efforts of the KZN Provincial Government, NACMA Awards Foundation and the public at large, the Inaugural NACMA Awards 2012 showcased and celebrated the best of choral music from South Africa thus truly contributing immensely to Nation Building, Social Cohesion and the implementation of the NACMA Awards objectives and vision. The 2nd Annual NACMA Awards 2013 will be a continuation of a brand which aims to be innovative and growing with each passing year. NACMA Awards Foundation (NAF) are fundraisers and overseers of the NACMA Awards. The NACMA Awards are implemented by the NACMA Awards PTY LTD.


VISION

To celebrate, preserve, develop, showcase, unearth, advance, promote, professionalise and mainstream choral music through honouring and awarding excellence in choral music across South Africa.

  • Promote cross and multicultural exchanges

  • Promote and enhance social cohesion

SIYAKHULISA CAMPAIGN

Siyakhulisa Campaign aims to develop and plant seeds that will grow and strengthen choral music in this generation and throughout future generations. NACMA Awards is more than passionate in this endeavour hence NACMA Awards have partnered with relevant structures and organizations since advancement, growth and progression is a collective effort. Siyakhulisa Campaign gives musical instruments and bursaries to winners. First time winners get a Piano while previous winners who have won Piano will get a musical instrument. The musical instrument a winner gets is based on the winner’s previous winnings. There will be an event handing out musical instruments and bursaries to winners, there will be choral music performances also. Community members will be invited and government officials especially Department of Education, Department of Social Welfare, Department of Arts and Culture and the Office of the Premier
